(More customer reviews)This TV stand is a substantial piece of furniture. It is of reasonable quality for the price, and it is fairly easy to assemble. The holes line up where they should and there are enough pieces to complete the assembly in less than two hours. A couple of times we thought it might end up with some awkward gaps between pieces, but after the entire assembly was completed, everything fell into place just as pictured. While it certainly isn't heirloom quality, it is exactly what we were looking for.

Portable 10x10' Greenhouse Review

(More customer reviews)I have been wanting a greenhouse for a long time, but have never been able to afford one. When I saw this, with its low price, I bought it right away.
The instructions could have been a little bit clearer, but once we got through a couple of small bloopers (and a terrible blister from when I pinched my hand between the pipes!), we got it set up without much ado.
The plastic cover seemed very sturdy, but the poles were a little wobbly. One of the seams in the zipper was off kilter, so there was a big gap in the door, but I figured I could fix this later, either by sewing it properly, or by taping it. One disadvantage I noticed right away is that the window is fairly high up. I am five feet tall, and knew I would have to bring a stool into the greenhouse in order to unzip the window.
After assembly, we went inside to eat lunch before putting our bedding plants in the greenhouse, and when we went back out we found the greenhouse upside down 30 feet away! It's wasn't even very windy that day! So okay, we figured we needed to anchor it. No anchors were provided with the greenhouse, so we bought some 12" stakes and rope, and anchored it in ten spots all around. We also put concrete blocks along the base of the excess material.
I took the bedding plants out, and the next day discovered that some of them had died. The thin plastic does not retain heat at night, so while the greenhouse was beautifully warm during the day, it cooled off greatly at night. In coming days I would see seeds sprouting in the day's heat, and then dying at night. So I knew that I would not be able to use it for warm weather bedding plants, but could at least start the cool weather plants in it.
We assembled the greenhouse two weeks ago. The other night, there was a strong wind, and we discovered our greenhouse twisted around a tree about 300 feet away. We managed to bring the bedding plants inside to save most of them. The next day we went out to look at the damage to the greenhouse.
Two pipes had broken clean in half; several other pipes were bent. The cover--seemingly so sturdy--had been ripped in several places by the pipes and even small twigs, which surprised me. The zipper was broken. It looks like the wind had caused a few of the stakes to come out, but some of the pipes were simply separated from the base pipes. In other words, despite the anchoring, the wind still managed to lift the canopy right off of the base pipes.
So that was $200 down the drain. I am now without a greenhouse once again, growing these poor plants in a sunny window in my home. We salvaged the bits of pipe and the cover, and will see if we can saw the pipes down and create cold frames with the cover.
Bottom line, if you live in an area that gets strong winds, I wouldn't recommend this. If you live in an area that gets down to 40 degrees or below at night, and you want to raise bedding plants through the winter, I would not recommend this. If you only want it to grow some plants in a calm area in moderate temperatures, it will probably be fine, but if you live with moderate temperatures you're probably able to plant right in the ground anyway, so you won't even need a greenhouse. I just wanted to make sure prospective buyers were fully aware of the possible downfalls of this greenhouse. The blister on my finger lasted longer than the actual greenhouse did.

They show a photo of a patio door vertical blind, yet when you look at the item description, it is NOT a patio door blind! The actual dimensions of this blind are 18 x 18 x 30 inches. This online retailer needs to get their act together and stop the misleading BS. It's a waste of my valuable time.

(More customer reviews)I purchase the silver version of this glass desk and it come with perfect conditions and tools for assembling. It only takes me 20 minutes to put the whole thing up. All the screws and parts fit perfectly and they also provide extras if you lose some which is great. I do not have much expectation from the reviews but to my surprise, this tempered glass desk is actually quite beautiful, airy, sleek and modern witn this inexpensive price. It is very easy to move around and not chunky. It is also quite sturdy and do not wobble. The glass slide out is quite nice for keyboard or storage. As with any glass desk, you do not want to clutter and put too many heavy stuff on top of it and need to exercise a little more care. This is common sense.
I have a small study and instead of putting it against the wall corner, it fits perfectly next to the window in the middle of the room and facing the door. I don't like having my desk facing the wall and don't know who is coming behind me. The L shape provide plenty of desk space for my laptop and writing area. The clear tempered glass desk does not make my study feel small or take up too much space even when it is placed in the middle of the room. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this product for anyone with a small study.

(More customer reviews)This item was on backorder for about 2 months. When it finally arrived, it was in a large box that was quite heavy (2-person type). The box was damaged in several places, but everything inside was fine. However, several key components were missing - namely the pump, lights & transformer. Rather than returning the entire thing to Amazon, I contacted the mfg (by phone) and they agreed to ship me everything at no cost. The parts arrived 2 weeks later (surprising since the rep said everything was in stock & they would be shipped out the next business day). Now comes assembly, which was pretty straight forward except when it came to connecting the hose to the pump. The hose was too short and it ended up being a 2 person job (one holding the upper tiers while the other attached the hose to the pump). Another problem was the top tier was noticably crooked. I tried to re-seat it several times but it was obviously a mfg defect. I ended up turning the fountain in such a way that it was not as noticable. I then filled it with water & plugged it in. Everything appeared to be OK and I let it run overnight. The next day I noticed another defect - water was leaking somewhere between the bottom tier and pedestal. I verified everything was seated properly & filled it with more water. That's when I noticed a slow leak trickling out onto my patio. That was the last straw. I disassembled everything, boxed it up & sent it back to Amazon. I have to mention one other thing about this fountain that I really didn't like - the fact that the lights stay on all the time. The mfg should have put the lights on a separate transformer so they could be controlled independendly from the pump. I prefer to keep the pump running all the time and turn the lights on for only about 6 hours at night. The fountain looks great, but it was a major dissapointment overall - especially when it cost nearly $400! I would not recommend it to anyone until they fix the problems and separate the pump from the lights.

(More customer reviews)I purchased 8 benches - 4 for our house and 4 as house warming gifts for friends who relocated to the country. These benches were a breeze to put together. After thinking it over I decided to incorporate 2x6s in place of 2x4s where I could to prevent warping. 2x6 lumber fits perfect into this construction. I've attached photos above - check 2x6 construction. the 2x4 braces below make for solid shake-free benches. I sanded and finished mine with three coats of Thompsons "Honey Gold" tint Watersealant. After this summer and winter in OK I'll report back on how well these held up. All construction so far has been 6 feet long.
You have to realize it's wood you're working with and prepare accordingly. Measure to get the most of each cut from the length wood you buy. I purchased #2 Douglas Fir - it's a bit stronger than framing lumber.

This is a beautiful crystal vase, very large and extremely heavy. It is a vase to keep for a lifetime. It looks best of course with flowers with long stems, such as roses, or large bouquets of other flowers with large stems. It is dramatic and impressive. It is so heavy that it can be a bit difficult for me to clean; if you are strong or younger this would not be a problem.
The information that came with the vase says that it is authentic, hand-cut, 24% lead crystal and that Dale Tiffany, Inc. is located in La Mirada, CA.
Recommended.

(More customer reviews)This stand is the brute force, take no prisoners kind of swing stand and it is wonderful! 80 some pounds of 12 gauge powder coated metal that is not going to tip over or rust.
I wanted a swing stand that could stand up to use, I believe I have it.
My kind of furniture. Easy to put together. Shipped pretty quick.
Swing chairs are great but it gets kinda complicated when you get to stands, some are prone to tip, have low weight limits and you really do not want to ask a guest "Say, before you sit in that, what do you weigh?" Not cool.
Neither is dumping someone on the ground. This stand takes care of those concerns and I am very pleased with it.

(More customer reviews)This product is great at killing mosquitoes, after they bite the heck out of you. If you are looking to stop mosquitoes, as I was and this bulb was categorized as an anti-mosquitoe bulb, then look somewhere else.
This bulb doesn't keep bugs of any kind away, it just kills them after a while. Big dissapointment, especially for $14.

We have three expensive, heavy duty, non-stick skillets that are now assigned the job, minus handles, of being pet food dishes. I bought this Cuisipro Silicone Egg Whisk and a pair of Cuisipro Silicone Tongs two months ago on Amazon.
The quality is great and my wife now uses them all of the time. Maybe our new pans will last for more than a couple of months.

If you want to be accused of being a "thief" just buy their product and deal with their "so called" customer satisfaction department. (More customer reviews)I use two oil-filled heaters to heat my living room, dinning room and kitchen, which is an open area without walls with an area of about 600 sq ft. There were a few problems with this method. Oil-filled heaters take a long time to heat a large area and all the heat goes straight up. The Dimplex heater solved these problems.
In the morning it would take two or three hours to raise the temperature by 3 or 4 degrees. I replaced one of the oil-filled heaters with the Dimplex. Now, it takes half the time to get the house warm. Another advantage of the Dimplex is that it has a quite fan that gently blows the heat from the bottom onto the floor. Before it was very warm in the house, but the floor was like ice. Now, the heat is more evenly distributed and the floor is much warmer. I can feel the heat on the floor from over ten feet away.
The thermostat, which is just a round knob without any markings, does a good job at regulating the heat. You turn the knob up on high then when it gets warm enough you turn the knob down until you hear a click. To make it easier you could put marks on the knob so that you can better tell where to set the knob. You can also turn off the heat and just watch the flames on the logs. It has a remote that plugs into the wall outlet and you plug the heater into the remote.
At first glance, the flaming logs look very realistic. When you turn the unit completely off it still looks like there are embers burning. I assume it is because there are a few very small places on the logs that appear to have reflective colored mirrors. It is a very nice feature and makes the stove look even more realistic. I built a 2-inch high 2x2 foot freestanding hearth out of ceramic tile on a plywood base and placed it on my carpet with the heater on top. This adds to the illusion of realism and protects the carpet. Since the heater does not get hot on the top, I placed an ivy plant on it just for a little decoration. I love the whole look that it creates.
The Dimplex stove solved my heating problems. It is small enough to fit anywhere. It is portable so that I can either move it to any location or store it in the summer and it looks great. I highly recommend this heater.

The C on it is perfectly tall enough to go inside of a standard height of a house but the problem is...majority of hammocks need an extra 3-4 feet of stretching room once you sit in them. This resulted in me having to curl my hammocks cord extra thus putting extra pressure on the support pole. Not my ideal approach but still works. The stand is easy to assemble. It isn't rocket science. Past that...it looks good. Holds well. No other issues.

(More customer reviews)I wanted to get my kiddo a picnic table for our backyard so he'd have a place to eat and play. I wanted a wooden one because all the plastic ones seemed cheap and not aesthetically pleasing.
This took about an hour to put together. Lots of small screws and bolts and some hammering. My husband is an engineer so I know he wasn't having technical difficulties - I find it hard to believe that this would take 5 minutes to put together.
One of the bolts for connection between a leg and the bench seems really short - it's popped out a couple of times, we'll need to find a new screw and bolt to hold this together. This is a concern for safety. I'm not amused. Once it's fixed, it's fine.
Other than that - this is great for parties or the occasional use. We did get a lot of complements on it. This wood can be stained/painted. It is very lightweight and can comfortably fit 3 - 4 toddlers (my son is 21 months).

This very light weight and versatile yard trimmings container has been dragged from front, to side, to rear yard, without spilling its contents and with true ease. The self-standing feature, wide opening, and ease of dumping by use of very well-placed cloth handles (including midway down the container) make yard clean-up and shrubbery trimming something I now look forward to. The days of dragging around a large, bulky trash container and then trying to grab leaves, branches, etc. between two rakes and throw them in the direction of the container are gone! Thank you Fiskars. My only disappointment is not having several more "loops" around the top rim to hold larger cutting tools such as loppers while I am dragging the Kangaroo to another part of the yard. The Kangaroo is collapsible with buttons and loops for holding it in the collapsed position. The loops double as small tool holder in the open position. And, the inside bottom can be washed out because the container sides collapse. They thought of everything!

The fabric is moderately thick but rips very easily once a small tear is started. If you live somewhere with not much weather and dont have pets or small children these covers will probably be good enough but dont expect them to hold up to much stress.

Since you can't get a close up picture of the bench; it was a bit of a surprise to see it was white when it arrived. My husband and I have had to tighten the bolts on it several times and the bench still wiggles and feels rather unstable. All and all it is holding the weight of myself and whatever children are waiting on the bus in the mornings, without falling apart. My only other complaint would be that this bench came in more pieces than I could count and the instructions were not very helpful. I would definitly pick another bench if I had to choose again.

I needed the globe facing up configuration, luckily, because there were some minor, but noticeable scrapes in the finish of the mounting plate which would have shown if mounted in the more traditional way. Overall a very nice piece. I would have returned it for replacement and would highly recommend it for value and appearance (five stars) except for the minor ding.

It is reasonably sturdy and is doing a great job so far of keeping my roses protected from our sometimes fierce Ohio winds (I lost 9 of 10 bushes when I moved here last year because I did not protect them well enough from the wind). I do recommend adding a little portable fan or some other way to create air movement within the greenhouse for plants that are sensitive to any kind of fungus or mildew. Also, make sure to secure the greenhouse as it is very light and can blow away easily unless secured.
This is a great product for the price!

They were all cheap mats that weren't really fire resistant and they would fall apart or curl up on the edges. This rug has already protected our floor and it is definitely fire resistant. It's heavy and so thick and plush that it almost feels like an anti-fatigue floor mat. It is truly beautiful and extremely well made. Worth every penny.

I purchased the model with the cherry finish and the finish looks high quality. Goes perfectly with the cherry cabinets in my office. The outside temperature sensor is very accurate. Always within +/- 1F of weather.com. I had no problems installing the outside temperature sensor (attached to siding under my covered porch). Several reviewers mentioned the counter-intuitive moon phase display (the shaded graphic display represents that part of the moon that's exposed to the sun vs. using the unshaded graphic to represent this)so I had no problem adjusting to this because I was already forwarned. I definitely would recommend this clock.

Fiskars 7978 Composite Trowel Review

(More customer reviews)This was my first trowel as a novice gardener 3 years ago. I loved it. I love that it's easy to spot in the garden, can be left out, and I don't care if the kids "borrow" it because it's dirt cheap. I have the hand rake to match, both in a not-too-glaring terra cotta colour.
For a while, this was my only garden tool, and it held up respectably creating beds, stirring in amendments and transplanting annuals and perennials of all sizes.
I'd have to go slowly when doing serious digging in rocky areas or digging up long-buried bricks - we have a million of these under our garden! But it did the trick, including digging post holes for my new Square Foot Garden this season.
However... this season brought the arrival of serious competition: the Rittenhouse Trake (also available at Amazon!). The trake's sturdy cast aluminum construction has, I'm afraid, blown this baby out of the water.
However much you want to call this trowel's material "composite," what it basically is is plastic. It's a plastic trowel. And metal, I'm afraid, will always trump plastic when you're investing in a real garden tool. The trake has a built-in rake (hence the name: trowel/rake), a nicely-rubberized grippy handle, and the digging power to seriously unearth those stones or bricks. It's also a girl-friendly small size without feeling too delicate or flimsy. I always was afraid that the matching Fiskars hand rake would get stepped on and snap. :-(
SO... I'm afraid, as much as I have loved my terra cotta Fiskars trowel / rake set, they've pretty much been relegated to the sandbox this season. The kids still use them in the garden, but I'm so happy with my metal version that can slice through anything without fear of snappage.

A chair on rollers moves easier, and it's easy to transport from one room to another. The light colored mat blends beautifully with oak floors. Get the dark mat only if you have very dark wood floors or want a dramatic contrast.

(More customer reviews)I'm not even kidding. I got this as a gift from someone who has a flair for strange presents, and let me tell you, this thing was the hit of the party! My son's first birthday party was the first real use this thing got, and it was fantastic. It was so good, in fact, that my neighbor asked to borrow it two weeks later for his son's graduation! I was only too happy to lend it out. It's durable and easy to build. Frankly, it's more confusing to take it apart than to put it together, because once it's up I couldn't remember which parts came off and which stayed on. At one of the parties we've used it at, there was a torrential downpour, and while the rain did just fall off the roof (no gutters), it never got through the roof for the 15 or 20 minutes that it rained. Kind of cool, but obviously let's hope it doesn't always rain at the parties.
Comes in three bags. Good quality canvas, strong. One bag is a bit heavy, but no more than 40 pounds. I recommend leaving that one to the strong member of the family. The other two are feather-light.
One thing I didn't see mentioned is a pair of water diffusers up in the roof that you can hook a hose to. Put the hose on relatively low pressure, and now it really is like you're on the islands. Also has lights and a plug for a blender.

(More customer reviews)I received the chairs today and am pleased with the way they look. I also love how light yet how sturdy they are. However, they do not come fully assembled as the description states. The foot rests on the sides of the chairs have to be put on and on one chair, the screw holes didn't line up exactly right. Still, for the money (considering I needed 10 to go around our outside kitchen/bar) they are a definitely a good buy.
I have purchased other Strathwood products (chaises, side tables, the 48 inch round table, and four swivel chairs.) This stuff looks like it cost much more - a "Frontgate" look for a fraction of the price. The cushions on the chairs are kind of cheap but as an interior designer, I can have cushions made easily enough. I don't love the off white fabric on any of these pieces, but do love the "bones" of the Strathwood furniture and have recommended it to clients. Once recovered in a better material, I know I will get many, many years of use. This may not be practical for some people so I thought I should make mention of this. To me, the fabric is the only real negative.

Durable yet surprisingly lightweight, this set of two cast aluminum bar chairs provides relaxing, cushioned comfort. Just make sure you install it properly - a hammock attached to a tree looks good but if it can't bear the weight compromise on solid posts (paint them or plant a tree in front of them to make them look better).

(More customer reviews)I have a Landmann Big Sky Stars & Moons Fire Pit. I have the 12.5 inch deep one. The cover fits over it even with the spark cover on the pit. The cover comes down about two thirds of the way down the side of the bowl. Part of this would vary on which bowl depth Fire Pit you buy. But all I need covered is the top to prevent rain from entering so it doesnt bother me if the whole bowl and legs are covered.
UPDATE after one year. It is November 2010 and the cover is still in very good shape. Still happy with the purchase.

(More customer reviews)This is the 5.5 foot bench manufactured (or sold by) All Things Cedar in Canada. First bench arrived broken with rusty screws (why rusty screws in a TEAK bench?) sticking out of it and I refused it and had UPS return it to the seller. The fault was clearly NOT with UPS as the bench was poorly packaged with nothing more than brown kraft paper inside the cardboard box protecting one entire side (remember this is a 75 pound shipment!) I immediately called them (left a message on their answering machine(!) and then e-mailed them. They did not respond to either request. I called again a week later and they said they would ship out a new bench and that my experience with the poor packing was not the norm (HA! see feedback for this company). Second bench arrived in better condition but still with some knicks and cuts due to insufficient protection. Bench also has KNOTS in it. A teak bench shouldn't have knots! I bought this bench because I was looking for a comfortable 5 or 6 foot bench and thought this was similar in design to the 4 foot NEW RIVER glider I also bought which is the MOST COMFORTABLE wooden bench I've ever sat in. Unfortunately, New River doesn't make anything larger than 4 feet, so I searched for a similar design (contoured wave back and seat). This one is okay, comfort-wise, but not anywhere near as comfortable as the New River. My recommendation: If you need a 5 or 6 foot bench, look for another bench. If you can live with a 4 foot bench or glider (which is actually what I bought), go with the New River. You won't be disappointed as I am in the All Things Cedar 5.5 Teak Wave bench pictured above.

It is much better quality and softer than most of the indoor/outdoor rugs I've seen in stores. I've had it a couple of weeks, and one side is still a bit curled up, but I'm sure it will lay down soon.

Fatboy Outdoor Buggle-Up Bean Bag Lounge Chair, Black Review

(More customer reviews)Let me preface this review with mentioning that I (otherwise) love the FatBoy brand and I have two; one of the original kind and one "buggle up" - or outdoor - FatBoy. The fabric on the "Buggle Up" is significantly more hefty and easy to clean than the fabric of the original FatBoy, and the straps on the outdoor version makes it possible to sit up and hinders the stuffing material from dispersing where you sit (with the original one, you have to "fluff" it pretty much every time you sit on it, or else you basically sit on the ground).
Here's the downside; my husband and I had the "Buggle Up" for all of 7 months when the metal clasp securing the strap for the "sit up" function clean broke off (the warranty from FatBoy is only 6mo). We don't have kids, we don't have pets, we just moved to a new place and haven't had people over... it is just my husband and I using the FatBoys - and we don't jump on them or otherwise strain the straps. And we use them indoors. Also, we are relatively petite people, neither of us weigh over 133 lbs/60kgs.
I would expect more from a product which is supposedly meant to be sturdy enough to be used as an outdoor piece of furniture.
We contacted FatBoy but they couldn't or wouldn't help us (because the warranty was 1 month over) and they suggested that we purchase a new cover (that is, reuse the filling material from our broken FatBoy) - but that would cost us $140. For a broken clasp, that seems a little ridiculous.
Because we were, before this happened, much more fond of the "Buggle Up" FatBoy than the original one, we were considering purchasing another of those to replace our original FatBoy. But now, I don't think we want to spend another $350 for a beanbag which will last us 6 months. The point is not so much that we can "just" find some other ad hoc way of securing the broken strap - rather, the point is for a product which is fairly expensive for what it is, I don't want to have to deal with it all of a sudden breaking and having to somehow modify it so shortly after buying it.
I think instead, we will go for another brand of (stylish) "sit up" beanbags (also for outdoor use) like the Evolution brand [...]- at least they won't have this strap problem.
